Job Title: Permit Engineer

Position Summary:
- The Permit Engineer assists OSP Project Management team with all permitting requirements including but not limited to lateral encroachment and crossing of private, city/county/state/federal, and railroad right-of-ways.
Primary Responsibilites:
- Manage and track all permit requests and provide weekly permit status report to Manager.
- Investigate and acquire permit requirements for all agencies / right-of-way owners within the assigned territory.
- Develop and maintain good business relationship with all permitting agencies within the assigned territory.
- Process permit requests by completing permit applications, CAD drawings, and submitting them along with all other required documentations to the appropriate permit agency within one week of receiving the request.
- Follow up, expedite and escalate both internally and externally to ensure timely acquisition of all permits.
- Assist Project Managers with the acquisition of pole attachment, conduit and structure access agreements when necessary.
- Able to work closely with the Company Legal department regarding tracking, management, and fulfillment of all permit related agreements/contracts.
- Must be able to read and understand detailed drawings.
- Must learn knowledge of the network quickly.
- The Permit Engineer may be required to follow other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties as requested, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.
Education/Training/Experience:
- Previous Permitting experience is desired but not required.
- MS. Office product experience is required.
- Experience with other mapping software a plus, not a necessity.
- Understanding of drafting basics is a plus.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD is required.
- Some knowledge of working with databases useful.
- Desire to learn new software

Working Conditions:
- Normal office environment.
- Working hours are Monday through Friday 7 AM to 5 PM.
