Job Title: Network Operations Center Tech

Position Summary:
    The position of Network Operations Center (NOC) Technician is responsible for monitoring and ensuring network quality and reliability by proactively correcting network faults. The NOC works directly with internal and external service groups to ensure that high quality products are provided on the network.

Primary Responsibilites:
      To monitor an extensive fiber optic network by utilizing surveillance systems and communicating with field operation groups and vendors. The NOC technicians are responsible for first level communications with customers to ensure resolution of any service issues by working with vendors and internal resources to provide rapid resolution of problems. The NOC technicians document all activities utilizing trouble ticketing systems and other operations support software. The NOC is responsible for transport layer service and supports the IP based carrier Ethernet service groups 24X7.

Education/Training/Experience:
    • 2-4 years experience in a transport common carrier NOC environment
      • Demonstrated knowledge of EMS systems such as Cisco Transport Manager or Nortel Preside
    • Familiar with LEC escalations policies and trouble reporting

    • As this is a 24X365 operation Associate must show a willingness to work on evenings, weekends, holiday's, and extended hours as required by workload and scheduling.
